He is principal flutist at the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and recently became Professor of Flute at the Italian-speaking Switzerland Conservatory in Lugano.
Apply nowHe is first prize winner at the ‘Kobe International Competition’ in 2005 and won the third prize at the ‘ARD international competition’ in Munich in 2004.
He has been a member of the GMJO and attended the Herbert von Karajan Academy in Berlin.
At the young age of 23, he was invited to play as a Guest Principal Flutist at the Berliner Philharmoniker under the direction of prestigious conductors.
He collaborated as a teacher and orchestral player with Mozart Orchestra in Bologna under Claudio Abbado and collaborates as principal flute with the Bayerische Rundfunk in Munich, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
As a soloist he performed from the USA to Japan and with Santa Cecilia Orchestra, directed by C. Hogwood, M. W. Chung, A. Pappano and M. Honeck.
In 2012 he debuts in Wigmore Hall with Angela Hewitt.
He formed the GlobeDuo with guitarist Costanza Savarese.
He recorded many CDs for “VDM”, “Le Chant de Linos”, “Wide Classique”, “Hyperion” (Bach Sonatas with Angela Hewitt), “Brillant” and “Sony” (F. Ghedini ‘Sonata da Concerto’ Soloist with Orchestra Toscana, D. Rustioni cond.)
Oliva plays a 14k all gold Muramatsu Flute.
