Quartetto Dulce in Corde

Festival 2021

Quartetto Dulce In Corde

The Quartetto Dulce in corde has formed recently, based on the love for playing music together and for this kind of chamber music group. The Latin name, whose literal meaning is “sweetness in the heart”, plays on the misunderstanding given by the word “corde” which means “heart”, but recalls the strings of instruments in Italian. Thus, sweetness of the heart is reflected in the sweetness of the sound.

The quartet performed in Lucca at Chiesa di San Francesco, within the festival “Il Settecento musicale a Lucca”, at Chiesa di Santa Caterina for “The string quartet from Lucca to Wien”, at Villa Bottini for “Festival del nuovo Rinascimento” and at the Botanical Garden for “Il Canto degli Alberi”. They collaborated with the Centro Studi Musicali “F. Busoni” in Empoli and with different institutions in the Tuscan province of Lucca.

They have been studying under the guidance of Gabriele Bellu in Lucca and Jorg Winkler during the chamber music courses of Centro Studi Musica e Arte in Florence. They also took part in Music with Masters, an advanced musical masterclass in Pistoia (Tuscany) held by Quartetto di Cremona, Eckart Runge (Artemis Quartet) and Sergei Bresler (Jerusalem Quartet).

They participated in the IMOC Festival 2020 in Chianciano Terme, taking part in the masterclass of M°Patrizio Serino and Jorg Winkler. During the summer 2020 they performed at the Lucca Classica Music Festival, in collaboration with Associazione Musicale Lucchese Onlus, in Sesto Calende (VA) within the Lago Maggiore Musica Festival 2020 in collaboration with Fondazione Gioventù Musicale d’Italia and at Villa Gherardi in Barga (LU) for the Opera Barga Festival.

They are currently studying under the guidance of Quartetto di Cremona at the Accademia Walter Stauffer in Cremona (Italy).

In 2020, the quartet has been selected to take part in Le Dimore del Quartetto.
