Lutetia Trombone Quartet

The Lutetia Trombone Quartet is a trombone quartet bringing together four musician friends from Europe's top trombone classes.

They met for the first time in 2016 with a desire to share their pleasure of playing together, also aiming to popularize their instrument and expand its repertoire. In September of the same year, they joined Philippe Ferro's chamber music class. The Quartet receives advice from a number of trombone greats, including Fabrice Millischer, Remko de Jager, Jacques Mauger and Jörgen van Rijen.

LTQ's repertoire is rich and varied, comprising both original works and transcriptions, from Baroque music to Beethoven, Gershwin and even soundtracks. At the same time, they take a keen interest in contemporary creations. In 2022, the Lutetia Trombone Quartet premiered Recall In Motion, a piece written for them by the young Estonian composer Anna-Margret Noorhani.

This diversity has enabled them to perform at numerous festivals, including Le Son des cuivres in Mamers (2016 and 2019), the gala of the competition Les Clés d'or (2017), the National Trombone Festival in Avignon (2018) and the Festival Internazionale Teatro Romano Volterra (2023). They are regularly invited to perform at such eminent cultural venues as the French Ministry of Education, the French National Archives, or at the top of the Eiffel Tower to celebrate its three hundred millionth visitor.
