Swiss pianist Ulrich Koella is much in demand as a chamber musician and accompanist – working among others with renowned artists János Bálint, Olaf Bär, François Benda, Eduard Brunner, Fabio Di Càsola, Thomas Friedli, Martin Fröst, James Galway, Peter-Lukas Graf, Ulrike Helzel, Wolfgang Holzmair, Sharon Kam, Rudolf Koelman, Maxence Larrieu, Regula Mühlemann, László Polgár, Christoph Prégardien, Julian Prégardien, Eugene Rousseau, Andreas Schmidt, Bo Skovhus, Elena Tsallagova, Raphael Wallfisch and ensembles such as the Orpheus Quartet, the Stradivari Quartet and the Winterthurer Streichquartet. His concert activities have led him to most European countries, the Middle East, Japan, China, Canada, Argentina and the USA.
He has recorded numerous CD’s with various chamber music partners for claves, Tudor, Centaur, Ars Musici and CRC (China).
Recently, Ulrich Koella has performed complete cycles of the piano-violin sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven with Simone Zgraggen and the piano-cello works by Beethoven with Raphael Wallfisch.
Ulrich Koella is professor for piano chamber music at the Zürcher Hochschule der Kuenste (Switzerland) and gives masterclasses in Israel, the USA, China, Australia and Switzerland.
