As lately announced Ticino Musica restructured the 2020 Festival program, in order to carry out the various activities in total compliance with the governament guidelines against the spread of Covid-19.
The number of Masterclasses has been reduced and will be held face to face. From July 19th till 31st Ticino Musica will host Marco Rizzi (violin), Corinne Contardo (viola), Giovanni Gnocchi (violoncello), Stefano Molardi (organ), Pablo Márquez (guitar) e Ulrich Koella (piano chamber music) for concerts and masterclasses.
The International Young Composers Academy will be held online by Oscar Bianchi - head of the Academy - and by Francesca Verunelli - guest composer - with the partecipation of the Quatuor Diotima. 14 young composers selected in february among 50 candidates will attend the composition classes in distance learning while the Quatuor Diotima - a world leading string quartet in the field of contemporary music - will perform the world premieres of the works composed and refined during the Academy. The traditional lectures held by 5 renomated swiss composers will accompany online the activities.
The other scheduled masterclasses, as well as the Opera Studio with the production of “The Barber of Seville” - with great sadness on the part of the Direction- are cancelled for security and space organization reasons. In any case, the artists involved have guaranteed their presence for 2021 and for the XXV edition of the Festival, which the whole Ticino Musica “family” is faithfully looking forward to.
