Tangentenflügel Recital

Saturday 26 July 2025, 05:30 p.m.

An immersion in the sound world of late 18th-century Germany, experienced in close contact with original instruments and musicians who passionately explore its languages and practice.

A rare opportunity to hear the Tangentenflügel, a fascinating keyboard instrument bridging harpsichord and fortepiano, capable of restoring with authenticity the timbres and nuances characteristic of a changing era.

The recital is the result of the work done during the openclass held earlier in the day, a musical dialogue that combines the established experience of Stefano Molardi, a teacher at the Ticino Muisca Academy, with the freshness and enthusiasm of young emerging masters.

Stefano Molardi, organist, harpsichordist and conductor, has studied with great masters such as Tagliavini and Radulescu. He is a lecturer at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano and the Conservatorio Giacomo Puccini in La Spezia and winner of numerous international competitions. He has critically awarded recordings and an intense concert activity in Europe and beyond.

Alongside him are the young musicians participating in Ticino Musica's masterclass, coming from different countries and united by their search for authenticity and stylistic rigor.

The event takes place at Casa Cantoni in Cabbio, in the heart of the Muggio Valley, an 18th-century mansion that houses the Muggio Valley Ethnographic Museum (MEVM). The building stands out for its imposing architecture and artistic decorations, such as the 18th-century chimneypiece attributed to Baldassarre Fontana. Today, Casa Cantoni serves as the information center of the “Museum in the Territory,” offering visitors a starting point to explore the ethnographic and historical heritage of the valley through exhibitions and cultural itineraries.
