Selected quartets must take a live audition on 13-14 February 2023, where they'll perform the first movement of a string quartet from the Classical era (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert) and an extract from Il matrimonio segreto (chosen by the Jury).

The quartet that will be selected:

1. will perform in one or more concerts during the Ticino Musica Festival 2023 as a quartet in residence;
2. will be part of the instrumental ensemble of the Opera Studio;
3. will receive a scholarship of CHF 6000.- (CHF 1500.- per ensemble member);
4. will receive free lodging (apartment for 4 people).

Live auditions will take place on 13 and 14 February 2023.

Average age of quartet members, 30 years old. Age limit for individual members: 35 years old (born after il 19 January 1988). The jury may decide on exceptions of small entity. Selected candidates that participate in the Opera Studio and respect its terms and conditions will be awarded a scholarship of CHF 1500.— (per ensemble member).
