Swiss pianist Ulrich Koella is one of the foremost chamber musicians and accompanists of his generation; he has collaborated with renowned artists such as János Bálint, Olaf Bär, Ian Bostridge, Eduard Brunner, Thomas Friedli, Martin Fröst, Wenzel Fuchs, James Galway, Peter-Lukas Graf, Wolfgang Holzmair, Sharon Kam, Rudolf Koelman, Céline Moinet, Regula Mühlemann, László Polgár, Christoph Prégardien, Julian Prégardien, Andreas Schmidt, Bo Skovhus, Raphael Wallfisch and ensembles such as the Quartetto Noûs, the Orpheus Quartet, the Stradivari Quartet and the Winterthurer Streichquartet. His concert activities have led him to most European countries, the Middle East, Japan, Korea, China, Canada, Argentina and the USA.
For many years Ulrich Koella was accompanist of choice for a number of prominent national and international music competitions. He is often called upon by most of the Symphony und Chamber Orchestras in Switzerland to be orchestral pianist and audition accompanist.
His partnerships have resulted in numerous CD’s for Claves, Tudor, Centaur, Prospero Classical, Ars Musici and China Record Corporation.
Ulrich Koella is Professor for Piano Chamber Music and Collaborative Piano at the Zurich University of the Arts and gives masterclasses in Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain, Norway, Israel, Korea, China and the USA.
