János Bálint

Mr. János Bálint studied at the Franz Liszt University School of Music in Budapest. From 1981 to 1991 he was the soloist flute player of the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. In 1984 he won the first prize at the International Competition in Ancona, and in 1986 he benefitted from a scholarship by the Cziffra-Foundation.

Mr. Bálint has been member of the jury in numerous competitions in Italy and in the USA. He plays as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles in most of Europe, together with renowned musicians such as R. Ricci, G. de Peyer, G. Cziffra, T. Vásŕry, and P. Pierlot. From 1987 he is guest professor at the Accademia di Musica “Respighi” in Rome, and regularly teaches in high level education courses both in Italy and in Austria. He is currently professor of flute at the Musikhochschule di Detmold (Germany) and at the Conservatory of Szeged (Hungary).
