Bruno Mezzena

He studied with Nunzio Montanari and obtained his diploma with the highest marks at the age of 15. Subsequently, he completed his studies with Tito Aprea, Marguerite Long, Arturo Benedetto Michelangeli and obtained the composition diploma with Renato Dionisi. Winner at national and international competitions (Munich, Busoni, etc.), he has given concerts in Italy and abroad with the main orchestras and prestigious conductors (Carlo Maria Giulini, Antonio Pedrotti, Anton De Bavier, Gabriel Chmura, etc.) and in chamber music groups with distinguished Italian and foreign artists (Paul Tortelier, Sandor Vegh, Salvatore Accardo, etc.). In 1974 he founded the Quintetto Italiano and in 1977 he won the Prize of the Italian Discographic Critics. In 1992 he founded the Mezzena-Bonucci Trio with which he has made several recondings. As soloist he has recorded for Ricordi, PDU, Ars Nova, Sony, EMI-Voce del Padrone, CBS, Polygram and Nuova Era. Currently, he is recording for Dynamic and Symposium. He holds masterclasses and is often invited as jury member of national and international competitions (Busoni, Viotti, Mavi-Marcoz, Saint-Vincent, ecc.).
