Terms of participation

  1. Participants in the masterclasses are divided into two categories: Active and Observer. The choice of participants is at the sole discretion of the class teacher. In all masterclasses a professional piano accompanist will be present.

  2. At the conclusion of the masterclasses, each participant will receive a certificate. The most successful participants will have the chance to take part in concerts.

  3. The enclosed application form is to be sent to the TICINO MUSICA Office, P.O. Box 722, CH-6903 Lugano (Switzerland), together with the deposit confirmation of CHF 300 / ca. Euro 200 (payment with credit card or bank transfer, post or cheque - bank details:

    BANCA DELLO STATO DEL CANTONE TICINO, 6501 Bellinzona - SWIFT code BSCTCH22 - SIC/Clearing 764 -Account no. 4267662/001.000.001 - IBAN CH69007644267662C000C).

    The fee will not be refunded in case of withdrawal. Refunds will be paid only if the class is cancelled by the organizers. The confirmation for the enrolment will be sent after receiving the deposit. The rest of the course fee must be paid in full before the beginning of the masterclass directly to the Festival Office cash in Swiss francs or Euro (we do not accept any other currency) ir before your arrival with credit card (VISA or MASTERCARD) through the link you can find on the confirmation.

  4. Course fee:

  5. The course fee (for groups only course, lodging will be calculated separately) are for both single participants and for existing chamber music groups.
     

  6. Enrolled participants are entitled to as active:

    • active participation to the chosen masterclass;
    • active participation in chamber music lessons and concerts (for the concerts only on the recommendation of the masterclass teacher or of the artistic director);
    • active participation in orchestra activities and concerts (if available);
    • active participation in the concerts dedicated to participants which take place in different areas (only on the recommendation of the masterclass teacher or of the artistic director);
    • free entrance to all TICINO MUSICA concerts;
    • free use of all studying rooms, instruments and material at the express disposal of the participants;
    • free participation in complementary courses;
    • service fee for hotel booking.

    Listener are entitled to free entrance to all TICINO MUSICA courses and concerts. 

  7. External Hotel booking: the organisers undertake to find accommodation corresponding as closely as possible to the requests of the participants. Accommodation is possible in the following categories:

    A - two/three-star-hotel (CHF 90 / Euro 60 approx.);
    B - one/two-star-hotel (CHF 60/ Euro 40 approx.);
    C - youth hostel (CHF 35-45 / Euro 25-30 approx. - limited places).

    The prices are approximate, per person, per day, (two- or three-bed rooms). Single rooms, if available, cost about 30-50% more. Exact conditions for each reservation will be confirmed separately. Hotel reservation will be made only after receiving the deposit
     

  8. Meals will be available in Lugano. Tickets can be bought at the Ticino Musica Office in Lugano at the price of CHF 12 / Euro 8.
     
  9. Enrolment to the courses implies full acceptance of these terms of participation. In the event of any disputes, the terms of participation in the Italian language shall be legally binding.
    Participants waive all rights to initiate legal proceedings against the Festival.
    For matters not explicitly specified in the terms of participation, we refer to Swiss law and especially to the Swiss Code of Obligations and the laws governing the specific matter. The present rules of participation can be changed for organisational reasons; already enrolled participants will be informed about the changes.
