Christian-Friedrich Dallmann

Born in 1955 at Karlsberg (Germany), Mr. Dallmann started taking his first piano lessons when he was 5, after which he joined for ten years the school of Greifswald. In 1971 he obtained the university-entrance diploma at the Spezialschule für Musik Berlin - a special school for young musicians. After two years of military service, he decided to continue his horn studies with Prof. Kurt Palm at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler”. Already in 1978, he became the Solo Horn at the Berliner Sinfonieorchester ( the biggest orchestra in the East of Berlin) until the year 2000. In the same year he won the first prize at the Internationaler Musikwettbewerb Markneukirchen, and also became a member of the Berlin Oktett , an experience that included various concerts and CD recordings. In the ‘80s he was awarded a lectureship to give lessons for horn at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin. During the ‘90s, he became member of the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart (Helmut Rilling), the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, and the International Chamber Music Academy Niedersachsen.

He has been assistant professor at the International Bachakademie, and the Israeli-Arab Youth Orchestra directed by Daniel Barenboim; visiting professor at the Universität der Künste Berlin; and has been awarded with a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (follower of Prof. Michael Hoeltzel), and in 2004 at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Also in 2005, he was named assistant Prof. of the Simon Bolivar Orchestra in Caracas (Venezuela).

Prof. Christian-Friedrich Dallmann is member of the selection commission various Horn Competitions. His students are prize winners of horn competitions in Geneva, Prague, Munich (ARD two times), Markneukirchen, Porcia, Warsaw, Jeju (Korea). Some students teach already at Music Universities in Germany.
