Organist, musicologist, cembalist and conductor, Stefano Molardi owes his musical education to internationally renowned figures such as Kooiman, Stembridge, Vigel, Tagliavini, and specially to Michael Radulescu, with whom he studied at the University of the Arts in Vienna, and with whom he collaborated during the Académie Bach di Porrentruy (CH).

Prize winner at numerous international competitions for organ players, among which the Pasian di Prato (UD) in 1998, Viterbo (1996), and most importantly in Brugge and at the Paul Hofhaimer in Innsbruck, Mr. Molardi has developed a brilliant career as both soloist and chamber musician, playing in some of the most famous venues in Italy, Europe, Brazil, and in the USA, like the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, the Sala Sao Paulo in Brasil, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Jordan Hall in Boston, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, to name a few.

As an organist he has performed in prestigious festivals in Italy and Europa, like the Musica e Poesia in Milan, Festival organistico internazionale in Treviso, Festival di Valvasone, Maastricht International Festival (NE), Wiener Orgelkonzerte, Historic Organs Festival at Arnstadt, and Organ Festival at Nürnberg. In 2009 he performed the complete organ music of both F. Liszt e di C. Franck.

He is professor at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano (Switzerland) and at the Conservatory of Trapani, and regularly gives masterclasses and lectures about the Italian baroque performance practice in Lugano, Siville, Dresden, Nüremberg and Budapest.

He has also made recordings with Tactus, Christophorus and Deutsche Grammophon. Since 2003 he is exclusive artist of the Swiss record studio Divox, both as soloist and as conductor of the baroque orchestra I Virtuosi delle Muse, obtaining great recognition from the critics (Amadeus, Early Music, Crescendo), and from record magazines (5 Diapason from the homonymous French magazine, 5 stars on Goldberg, 5 stars and CD of the month on Amadeus). He has also recorded for SWR in German<, MEZZO in France, Radio France, and Radio Suisse Romande.

As a conductor he regularly performs in Italy, Hungary, France, Germany, Austria, and Spain with repertoire that varies between Matthews Passin by Bach (Ferrara), Mozart’s Requiem (Festival dell’Aurora di Crotone), Ademira theater pieces by Lucchesi from 1784 (Teatro Dovizi di Bibbiena) Mitridate di Porpora del 1730-36 (Teatro Caldéron di Valladolid), il Farnace and Il Giustino by Vivaldi (Vienna, Theater an der Wien, Theatre des Champs-Elysées, Parigi); performing also in Bilbao, Oldenburg, Rheingau, Cremona (Festival Monteverdi), Paris, Nantes, Monaco, Innsbruck, London, Montpellier, Schwetzingen, and Dachau.
