He studied with Gaspar Cassadó, André Navarra and Pablo Casals, and received valuable musical stimuli from his collaborations with Rudolf Serkin and Yehudi Menuhin. He has been invited to play at different festivals (Berliner Festwochen, Enescu Festival Bukarest, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Kuhmo Festival Finnland, Xockenhaus Austria). He has recorded over 35 CDs, and received the “Grand Prix des Discoboles de l’Europe” for the CD of the Cello Concerto by O. Schoeck. As cellist and conductor he has travelled all over the world. Johannes Goritzki is cello professor at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, and since 2010 is also “Prince Consort Professor” at the Royal College of Music, London.
