May is traditionally the month dedicated to the Circle of Friends of Ticino Musica (Circolo degli Amici di Ticino Musica), which during the annual members’ meeting on Wednesday, May 8 at 20.30 at the Fattoria Moncucchetto (via Crivelli Torricelli 27, 6900 Lugano) will offer a Concert with free admission, followed by a convivial moment, a precious opportunity to share, exchange and compare.
The protagonist of the event will be the String quartet “Al Pari”, winner of the recent auditions for the International Opera Studio “Silvio Varviso” and ensemble in residence for the 2019 edition of Ticino Musica. Composed of Marta Lucjan, Alicja and Miruk-Mirska on violin, Magdalena Maier at viola and Elżbieta Rychwalska on cello, this group, entirely composed of female musicians, was formed within the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (Poland). Before forming the Quartet, the individual musicians have won numerous prizes as soloists and as members of other ensembles in international competitions. In addition to their Chamber music activities, the four string instrumentalists still perform regularly with various Polish orchestras. Music by Franz Joseph Haydn (Quartet No. 3 op. 76 “Emperor”) and Robert Schumann (Quartet No. 1 op. 41) will be presented at the concert offered by Circolo Amici di Ticino Musica.
As every year, the concert offered by the Circle of Friends will represent a special opportunity to find new “friends” for Ticino Musica. The Circle, as often happens in complex cultural realities, constitutes the pulsating and living heart of the material, intellectual and affectionate support of Ticino Musica. It is a place where one can exchange ideas and bring enthusiasm and innovative spirit, which sustains the growth of the Festival and the musical culture in Ticino. The members of the Circolo Amici benefit from a number of advantages, particularly including free access to all the concerts during the Festival (Opera: upon reservation) and to the masterclasses of the Academy as auditors.
The event will be accompanied by a guided tour of the Fattoria Moncucchetto.
Given the exclusivity of the location and the limited number of places available, a reservation is welcome.
