The Thinking Brass Quintet was established in 2016 by a group of young musicians from Vega Baja, south of the valencian community. Thinking Brass originated from the passion of its members for music, and with the objective of promoting a highly varied brass quintet repertoire, from baroque to contemporary music.
All members of the quintet graduated, or are about to finish their studies, from the conservatories in Murcia and Alicante. They have collaborated with many orchestra, among which the Orchestra of the Marinsky Theatre at St. Petersburg, Orchestra del Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, National Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia, Spanish Radio Television Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands, Symphony Orchestra of the of Murcia , Symphony Orchestra of the Principate of Asturias, Murcian Youth Orchestra, National Catalonian Youth Orchestra, Generalitat Valenciana Youth Orchestra, Freixenet Reina Sofía Youth Orchestra, Spanish National Youth Orchestra, World Orchestra of Jeuneisses Musicians and Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.
The quintet has performed all throughout Spain, always obtaining good reviews, and has collaborated with the foundation ASPANION (for children with cancer). Recently, Thinking Brass obtained the second place at the Second Brass Quintet National Competion in Ondara (Alicante) and has future plans for releasing its first CD in autumn 2017.
